SoftWave Therapy is a patented, non-invasive treatment that directs broad-focused acoustic energy into targeted areas of the body to encourage healing.
SoftWave Therapy has been researched extensively, carries FDA 510(k) clearance, and is used in medical settings to relieve pain and inflammation, restore mobility, and support tissue healing for orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Non-invasive
- Quick to administer
- No downtime
How Does It Work?
Softwave Therapy (also called Extracorporeal shockwave therapy or ESWT) creates controlled acoustic shockwaves that penetrate both superficial and deep tissues. As the acoustic waves move through tissue, they engage the body’s own healing processes at the cellular level through mechanotransduction; setting off a cascade of regenerative responses:
- Increased blood flow through the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). This allows oxygen and nutrients to reach damaged tissue.
- Stem cell recruitment – SoftWave awakens resistant and dormant mesenchymal stem cells and draws them to the site of injury to assist with regeneration.
- Tissue remodeling including the reorganization of scar tissue that may be limiting mobility, along with stimulation of healthy collagen production.
- Modulation of inflammation.
- Relief of both acute and chronic pain.
Evidence For This Treatment
Shockwave therapy, also called has been extensively studied across a range of musculoskeletal conditions. The studies below are randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses (the highest level of clinical research) published in peer-reviewed journals for a few selected conditions.
